Every home needs storage that fits properly. Not a wardrobe that stands in the corner taking up floor space, but cupboards built into the room itself — sized to your walls, your ceiling height, and the way you actually use the space.
We have been designing, manufacturing and installing built-in cupboards in Pietermaritzburg since 2006. Same workshop, same team, same standards as our kitchens.
Hinged doors are the traditional choice and still the most practical for most bedrooms. You see the full interior when the doors are open, and there is no track to keep clean. They need clearance in front, so they suit rooms with space to spare.
Sliding doors save that clearance entirely, which makes them the better answer in smaller bedrooms or where a bed sits close to the cupboard. They also allow much larger door panels, so you get a cleaner, more modern look with fewer visible joins.
We fit both. Which one suits you is usually decided by the room, not by preference, and that is something we work out with you at the measuring stage.
The inside matters more than most people expect. A cupboard that is all hanging rail and one shelf wastes most of its own volume.
We plan the interior around what you are actually storing: long hanging for coats and dresses, double hanging for shirts and folded items, adjustable shelving, drawers including soft-close, shoe racks, dedicated space for linen, luggage or bulky bedding, and mirrors either on doors or inside.
Corner units, angled walls and sloped ceilings are all workable. Built-in means built to the room.

Melamine is hard-wearing, comes in a wide colour range, and is the practical everyday choice. High gloss gives a reflective finish that brightens smaller rooms. Handleless gives clean lines with no protruding handles to catch on. Woodgrain finishes bring warmth without the cost and maintenance of solid timber.
Colour matching to existing furniture or flooring is straightforward, and we bring samples to the measuring appointment so you are choosing against your own walls and light rather than a screen.
First, we come and measure. At your home, at a time that suits. We look at the space, talk through how you use it, and take proper measurements. No charge, no obligation.
Then we design and quote. You get a design and a written quote, and nothing is manufactured until you are happy with both.
Then we manufacture, in our Pietermaritzburg workshop, rather than ordering in flat-packed from elsewhere.
Then we install, using our own team. Most projects run about two weeks from accepted quote to completed installation.
An honest answer: we cannot tell you before we have seen the space.
Built-in cupboards are made to fit, so the price follows the job. What moves it most is the size of the wall you are filling, whether you choose hinged or sliding doors, the finish you go with, and how much you want inside — drawers, shoe racks and soft-close runners all add cost that a simple rail and shelf do not. Sloped ceilings, corners and uneven walls take more work too.
We would rather measure, design, and give you a real number than quote a figure that changes once we arrive. The measure and the quote are both free, and there is no pressure attached to either.
